Carole Wilson has a long commitment to improving the lives of North Carolinians through her efforts to support education and the vibrancy of our communities.  A retired public school teacher, Carole taught middle school and high school in Wake and Caldwell counties and later taught special education. A longtime community volunteer and activist, Carole has worked with the NC Department of Transportation and has served on a number of community organization boards including the NC Partnership for Children (Smart Start), SafeChild, the foundation of the NC Museum of Art, Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council and the Carolina Ballet. Carole is also an avid supporter of her alma mater, Appalachian State, where she serves on the Board of Trustees and co-chairs the Campaign for Appalachian, a $200 million fundraising campaign.
