Ann currently serves as an Executive Leadership Coach working with aspiring superintendents and superintendents in public school districts across the country. She also works with school districts to assist in the development of strong assistant principals and principals. From 2015 to 2017 Ann led the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as Superintendent, capping a distinguished career with the school district. Since joining the Charlotte schools in 1983, Ann has served as a teacher, school principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels, deputy superintendent and chief academic officer. She also has served on a number of boards, including the Girl Scouts, Teach for America, Renaissance West Community Initiative and E2D Eliminate the Digital Divide. Ann is a Davidson College graduate, with a master’s degree from the University of Virginia.
