Presidential primaries often create a flurry of new policy ideas and proposals as candidates jockey with each other to stand out from the crowd. 2020 was no different as the literally dozens of Democratic candidates for president released their campaign platforms. Candidates like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren staked their candidacy on their policy vision.
With so many candidates and so many ideas being floated, there was a tidal wave of new progressive policy to digest. Think NC First doesn’t take a position on these federal policy proposals, but we do recognize that candidates and elected officials in North Carolina may be questioned about them.
